In 1994, construction began on the Byzantine Fresco Chapel—a consecrated chapel in Houston which was to house the frescoes and restore them to their original spiritual purposes. Designed by Francois de Menil, the Chapel opened to the public in 1997 and hundreds of thousands have passed through its doors since. These images depict architectural representations of the Chapel, as well as the construction process and the completed Chapel with the frescoes installed.
